• ScholarBuys has purchased all office furniture second hand, to help reduce the amount of good quality, unused furniture in landfills.
• Almost all of ScholarBuys products have an ESD (Electronic Secure Download) option, eliminating waste through using little to no packaging to ship a hard copy product for our customer orders.
• All inter-office communication is done through e-mail and instant messenger programs, decreasing the paper waste of many printed memos and letters.
• 25% of ScholarBuys employees telecommute at least 2 days a week, helping to do our part to ease fuel consumption as well as vehicle pollution emissions from commuting back and forth to the office.
• ScholarBuys uses electronic faxing sent through email, eliminating the waste caused by hard copy paper faxing.
• ScholarBuys has installed motion sensing light switches in restrooms in order to reduce the energy that would have been usedto keep the lights on even when restrooms are not in use.
• The ScholarBuys office building uses energy efficient light bulbs, many Energy Star approved energy saving appliances and electronics, as well as turning off lights and electronics at night, to lower the energy consumption of our company as much as possible.
• ScholarBuys offers Adobe Acrobat 9, which promotes the use of Adobe Acrobat to save, store, share, and create documents in the office, at school, and at home.
